Ilene McCauley
Ms. McCauley is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, Wealth Counsel and the President of the Arizona Chapter of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys. She was also an editor and contributor to the publication produced by the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, Conspectus Current. She is a Fellow of the Esperti-Peterson Institute for Advanced Estate Planning, and has completed her second post-doctoral degree in Advanced Tax and Estate Planning.
In October 1998, Ms. McCauley began serving an appointment to the Tax Advisory Commission of the State Bar of Arizona. The Tax Advisory Commission is the Board that selects Certified Tax Specialists for the State Bar of Arizona. Ms. McCauley has recently been appointed to the position of Adjunct Professor at The Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University. She will be teaching advanced estate planning courses via the Internet.
Ms. McCauley is well sought after for speaking and radio engagements. She has also been co-chairman of, and speaker for, seminars entitled “Tax Planning for Small Business,” “Bridge the Gap Basic Legal Skills,” and “New Tax Legislation” sponsored by the State Bar of Arizona. Her most recent articles include “The Charitable Remainder Trust as an Executive Benefit Tool”, “Goals and the Consultative Process”, and “Converting Stock Options to Other Employee Benefits” all published in Conspectus Current.
Her many publications include Estate Planning and Passive Income Taxes - A Whole New Look, in the Arizona Business Gazette. In addition, she is editor of the Corporate and Estate planning Chapters of Arizona Legal Skills Manual published by the State Bar of Arizona.
Ms. McCauley has been a member of the State Bar of Arizona since 1982, and has been a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin since 1978. She has been certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Taxation since 1983 and was named Arizona’s Outstanding Young Lawyer in 1991. Ms. McCauley earned her BA from Binghampton University, her JD from Hofstra University School of Law, and her LLM (Master of Laws in Taxation) from DePaul University School of Law.
